How to Find and Rescue Special Bot 4 in Astro’s Playroom

Astro Bot is only a few days from release, and if you have been waiting for the fourth Special Bot to show up in Astro’s Playroom, your wait is over. Ape Escape’s monkey bot is the fourth and final bot to unlock in Astro’s Playroom and will carry over to Astro Bot as part of your starting crew if you rescue him. Here is how you can find and rescue the Special Bot 3 in Astro’s Playroom.

Special Bot 4 in Astro’s Playroom

The Special Bot 4 in Astro’s Playroom is a monkey-themed bot from the Ape Escape series and can be found in Memory Meadow.

Follow these steps to rescue the Special Bot 4.

• First, travel to Memory Meadow – Gusty Gateway level
• Here, you’ll first want to locate the capsule to pull out early on in the stage
• This is present next to the right anchor of the starting bridge you immediately cross

• With the Capsule pulled out, make your way through the level by extending tightropes and jumping through platforms.

You’ll eventually spot a faint blue cloud. Make your way towards it.

• Throw the capsule at its location, and you’ll spawn the monkey bot
• Now, with the bot spawned, you need to rescue it
• Continue making your way through the level until you see PlayStation controller clouds
• Jump on top of it and hover to avoid falling through it when it changes

• Make your way to the top, and use square to charge up and hit the tree at the top.

• This will drop a banana, press square to pick it up, and head back to the monkey bot location.

• Make your way to the platform between yourself and the monkey bot. You must now perform a dance routine by mimicking the monkey bot’s moves. This will be random for every player, but you will be able to perform the following moves using the D-pad buttons.
  • Right is Disco
  • Left is Carlton Dance
  • Up is Flossing
  • Down is Cha Cha Slide
• If you mess up, you’ll have to get the banana again, but after getting it right, you’ll rescue the Monkey Bot.

Like the Special Bot 3, this special bot will also be carried over to Astro Bot if you choose to purchase it. Astro Bot is coming exclusively to the PS5 on September 6, 2024.
