How to Evolve Weepinbell in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Now we just need Vileplume!

Weepinbell is one of the OG grass Pokemon. It’s been around since the very beginning, and its evolution grabbed its claim to fame when James from Team Rocket opted to add it to his ensemble. But if you want a Victreebel all your own, here’s how to evolve your Weepinbell in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Evolve Weepinbell in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

If you have the Teal Mask DLC, one of the first Pokemon you’ll see wandering around the grass knolls of Moussi Town is Bellsprout and Weepinbell. And while they’re easy to catch, no matter how you level up Weepinbell, it won’t evolve without some outside interference.

That’s because to evolve Weepinbell in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you’ll need a Leaf Stone.

And unfortunately, the lone shop in Moussi Town doesn’t sell Leaf Stones. You’ll need to travel all the way back to Paldea to grab the Evolution Stone from Delibird Presents. The three Delibird Presents shops in Mesagoza all have Leaf Stones available for 3,000 Pokedollars.

But while you’re there, be sure to pick up one more! Weepinbell isn’t the only Pokemon who can evolve with a Leaf Stone in the Teal Mask DLC. Nuzleaf also requires it to evolve into Shiftry!

If you’re not certain how to get back to Paldea from the Kitakami Region, press ‘X’ to open your map. Then, press the right or left shoulder button. This will bring you to the Paldea map. You can then navigate to whatever city you like. This is also how you can get back to Katakami.

If you love seeing all the Generation I Pokemon in The Teal Mask DLC, you might be curious about what other old faces have come to the game. Fortunately, we’ve got the full list of every Pokemon that’s made its triumphant return in The Teal Mask.
