How to Evolve Weapons in Vampire Survivors

You're going to need all the help you can get.

Vampire Survivors doesn’t tell you everything you need right off the bat. It’s fun to experiment with different weapon builds to see how certain ones interact with each other. Of course, there are even more powerful versions of each one in the game, you just need to know how to get them. Here is how to evolve weapons in Vampire Survivors.

How to Perform Weapon Evolutions in Vampire Survivors

If you’re looking to evolve weapons in Vampire Survivors, you’ll need to put a couple of things in place during a run.

First off, you can evolve multiple weapons in a single run, so it’s always good to try and plan out ahead of time which ones you’ll be looking for. Sometimes the RNG isn’t in your favor so you’ll have to adjust a little on the fly.

However, pretty much every weapon in the game evolves in the same manner. First off, get the weapon you want, for instance, the axe. Now that you have the axe, you’ll need to upgrade it to level eight. This can be done by collecting gems from slain enemies and leveling up. Every time you level, you’ll have a choice of three different options (sometimes more if your Luck stat is high enough).

Choose the axe every time it’s available to continue leveling it. If you happen to pick up a treasure chest, there is a chance it will also level this weapon.

The other thing you’ll need to be on the lookout for is the appropriate accessory for the weapon you’re trying to evolve. Our Vampire Survivor weapons upgrade guide has the answer if you need a list, but you’ll also see this information in-game.

Once you pick up a weapon anytime the matching accessory is in the loot pool, it will say so on the right-hand side. For instance with the axe, if the Candleabrador is available for pickup when you level up, it will say that it’s needed to evolve the axe on the pickup screen. This lets you know at a glance to pick it up.

Now that you have both matching pieces. All you need to do is find a treasure chest. This will drop from some of the mini-bosses that show up at time intervals like 10, 15, 25 minutes. They also have a random chance of dropping (again heighten that Luck stat with the Clover accessory).

Once you pick up the treasure chest with a level eight weapon and matching accessory, your weapon will evolve and have new properties and abilities.
