How to Evolve Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To evolve Galarian Slowpoke, the first thing you’ll need to do is actually get your hands on a Galarian Slowpoke. Thankfully, they’re pretty abundant in the Coastal Biome, so start your search here. There is a northern beach connected to the Coastal Plaza that contains plenty of them, so grab a few while you’re here, since you’ll need at least two of them for this evolutionary line.

Once you have captured a few Slowpokes, you’ll want to head back toward the Central Plaza. There is an NPC that you’ll want to speak to here who can create a few special items using Galarica Twigs, which can also be found plentifully on the same beach as the Slowpoke you just captured. Speak to them and find out which item you would like to create.

You’ll need 23 Galarica Twigs in total if you’re hoping to create both of these items, with 8 Galarica Twigs going into the Cuff, and 15 Galarica Twigs going into the Wreath. You’ll just want to hand these over to get your respective evolution, as discussed below.

To evolve your Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro, you’ll need to hand over 8 of your Galarica Twigs to the NPC and create the Galarica Cuff. Once you have received this item, visit your Other Items tab in the Bag, hand it over to your favorite Galarian Slowpoke, and watch the magic happen. Now you’ve gotten a Galarian Slowbro, but what if you want a Galarian Slowking instead?

Much like the Galarian Slowbro evolution, to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking, you’ll need to hand over the Galarica Wreath, which is crafted from 15 Galarica Twigs. Once you have handed this item over, the evolution will begin, and you’ll leave with a brand new Pokemon once again.

Is There an Alolan Slowpoke in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

It may seem odd, but no, there is no Alolan Slowpoke in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet nor anywhere in the Pokemon franchise. Currently, the only regional form of Slowpoke outside of its original form is the towheaded Galarian Slowpoke, which was introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

As a beachy Pokemon, Slowpoke seems like it would be a natural fit for the Hawaii-inspired Alola region, adopting one of the many Hawaiian-themed Alolan forms. And Slowpoke did certainly appear in Pokemon Sun and Moon where Alola is the primary setting. But Slowpoke never did receive an Alolan form when appearing in Sun and Moon.

Perhaps one day we’ll return to the Alola region and see a proper Alolan Slowpoke, but for now, we’ll have to make do with Galarian Slowpoke, who we shall not snub despite his distinct lack of Hawaiian-themed accessories. He’s trying his best, okay?
