Sidekicks have arrived in Fortnite, bringing with them a completely new gameplay system to navigate. One of the many features they add is Sidekick points, an essential currency you can earn and spend to unlock exclusive prizes.
The point system isn’t explained to you, so figuring out what it is and how it works can be rather tricky. It’s one of the coolest parts about having Sidekicks, as these points allow you to unlock exclusive prizes, so you need to know how to earn Sidekick points in Fortnite.
How to Get Sidekick Points in Fortnite

Sidekick points are basically XP, which means you earn them by simply having a Sidekick at your side and playing in any valid experience. Just like regular XP, you’ll earn points passively for playing, but can also earn more for tackling bigger feats, like missions, challenges, and puzzles.
You can earn Sidekick points in most experiences, including those like Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Blitz Royale, and Fortnite Festival. Modes that have quests and Accolades are the best options to choose, as they offer more tasks you can get done to rack up Sidekick points more quickly. Essentially, the more you play and the more you manage to complete, the more Sidekick points you earn.
All Sidekick points are tied to each individual Sidekick. This means you can only level up one at a time, and that you must switch out your active Sidekick for a different one to work on leveling them up and claiming their prizes.
What are Sidekick Points For in Fortnite?
Sidekick points are a special currency tied to all Sidekicks in Fortnite. This currency unlocks rewards, all of which are themed around the specific Sidekick you earn them for. There are lots of different types of prizes you earn as you accumulate them, including:
- Sidekick clothes (Hoodies, hats, etc.)
- Loading Screens
- Banner Icons
- Emotes
- Reactions
All rewards available for each Sidekick you have can be viewed under the Sidekick tab on the Quests page. Each Sidekick has an array of unique prizes you can earn, all of which are exclusive and cannot be claimed any other way. Most of them have around eight rewards, but some, like Bonesy, have fewer, so the number of points you need for prizes varies with each one.

How to Check Sidekick Points in Fortnite
You can see how many Sidekick points you have by navigating to the Quests tab, scrolling down to the Sidekicks section, and looking for the number listed below the name of the Sidekick quests. If you have more than one Sidekick, you’ll have different tabs for each one here, so you’ll have to swap between them to see how many points you have for each one.
If you want to quickly rack up lots of Sidekick points, tackling key missions is a great way to do so. Some quests you might try working on are finding Hidden Gags, visiting The Simpsons’ house, destroying objects at Krusty Burger or Lard Lad, and damaging Dober Men.
