Before progressing further, it’s important to note that you need the Sims 4: Discover University expansion pack to unlock university enrolment. Without this, you won’t be able to attend university, much less drop out. Once you have the pack and have enrolled in your chosen school, you can begin the process of potentially dropping out.

Dropping out of university is a scarily easy process. To do this, head into your phone, press the Business briefcase button, and scroll down until you find “Drop Out of University”. If you choose to drop out, you’ll have to wait around 5-7 in-game days to reapply if you wish to go back. However, there is no penalty for doing this. In fact, it’s helpful to do this if your student sim is at risk of expulsion! Just note that you’ll lose all your degree progress, meaning you’ll have to start all over if you choose to re-enroll in the future.

Alternatively, you can go back into this menu and select “Withdraw from Term” instead. Rather than dropping out completely, your student sim will take time off and return the following term. However, you’ll lose any scholarships you gained prior to enrolment, damaging your finances slightly.
