How to Beat the Dreadnought in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

I found no way to “cheese” this boss fight, so we’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way: Through sheer violence mixed with a bit of foresight, cunning, and speed of your character.

Here are some tips that will help you learn about Dreadnought’s attack mechanics and defeat it:

  • Dreadnought lunges at you approximately every 7-12 seconds, from my experience. It kind of acts like a cat; it stops, wiggles for a second, and makes the jump at your last known location.
  • When Dreadnought stops moving, I highly advise you to turn 90 degrees and get away from its landing spot as soon as possible. Trying to juke it by going away from it might not be as efficient, and you might be late for the escape if you do not have sufficient movement speed.
I think it’s programmed to calculate where you will be if you remain on the same path and try to land there. Trying to go “under” it as it makes the jump will surely get you killed. It will kill you if you’re anywhere on its path.
  • Therefore, to increase your chances of outrunning the Dreadnought’s jump, I advise you to invest some of your points in movement speed, whether it’s in the upgrades menu or as a level-up option. It will make your life much, much easier.
  • Try as much as possible to get a respectable arsenal of weapons. I am not saying this because of the Dreadnought, I’m saying this because the aliens will increasingly get stronger. Dreadnought will eventually fall to your damage, but if you get overwhelmed by aliens, it’s over. If you spot a Plasma upgrade for any weapon, do not think; act and click on it, even if the other option is a Ferrari. I’m serious.
