Paint Jobs Explained in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor

Paint Jobs in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor are simply one of the many upgrades that players can encounter while playing the game. It is the name for a specific upgrade that players can possibly get when leveling up, instead of the weapon and armor color palette swap it was in Deep Rock Galactic.

The Paint Job is a weapon upgrade that will increase the Weapon Level by X. For example, the Rare variant will upgrade your weapon by two levels, while the Epic variant will upgrade it by three levels.

Leveling up your character in a run of Deep Rock Galactic Survivor will give players the choice of three random perks for either their character or currently equipped weapons. Usually, it means more armor or faster reloads, but Paint Job simply levels up your weapons.

Each weapon can be upgraded in 18 levels during each run, and adding perks to the guns will upgrade the Weapon Level by one. Paint Job is a basic increase of two or more and does not give any other specific attributes to the weapon.

It may not seem useful, but players can get Overclock perks for their weapons at levels six, 12, and 18. These can fundamentally change your weapon with much better stats or change its status damage. So, getting a Paint Job perk early on will bring you much closer to an Overclock that can make a huge difference in surviving longer.
