Now that a new Extraction Zone is available for the Call of Duty: DMZ mode, you can expect some of the missions to take place on Ashika Island. Whistleblower is one of those missions, and it’s part of the Crown Faction’s Tier 1 requirements before moving on to the story task.
Based on the description, the Whistleblower task doesn’t seem too bad, but there are a few steps you’ll need to take to even be prepared. To make sure you have all the equipment you need, and the right strategy for each task, we have a full DMZ guide on this mission alone.
COD DMZ – How to Complete the Whistleblower Mission
Before you can even think about starting this mission, you’ll need a City Hall Hideout Key. With some luck, you can find one as you loot within the Extraction Zone or hope for one to be available for purchase at a Buy Station. There is one guaranteed way to get a worn City Hall Hideout Key though, and that is to complete the Health Conscious mission under the Legion faction.
With the key in hand, you’ll have three tasks to complete on Ashika Island specifically. You can find the full list below before we jump into the steps.
Whistleblower DMZ Task:
- Take the governor’s laptop from the Ashika Island town hall.
- Take the laptop to the Ashika Beach Club dead drop in the same deployment.
- Deliver a screwdriver into the same dead drop in the same deployment.
The town hall, or city hall in this case, is located toward the southwest of the island. City Hall is the crescent-shaped building located to the right of the Beach Club. Clear this place out and search the office for the governor’s laptop. It’s the building and the office that require the key.
After you pick up the laptop, you need to head west to the Beach Club which is located right near City Hall. You’ll find the DMZ Dead Drop that you need behind the gas station building directly to the west of City Hall. Place the laptop in there to finish this section.

With that out of the way, you still need a screwdriver for the Whistleblower mission, and these can be found in toolboxes or computers in most cases. You can loot the screwdriver before you bring the laptop to try and save some time. Either way, both items must be brought to the Dead Drop in the same COD DMZ deployment.
