How to Complete the Just a Flesh Wound Penance in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

It's only for 75% of the mission, not a big deal.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide is harsh with its penances, though it’s even harsher to the Zealot and the Psyker. Sure, each class has its incredibly difficult challenges, but these two get the bulk of the situational ones. Take the Going Out With a Bang challenge, which asks you to get to max Peril and explode but kill three enemies in the process. Not an easy challenge by any measure. As for the Zealot, they have a challenge that is easy once you understand a key loophole in its wording. Here’s how to complete the Just a Flesh Wound penance in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

To complete this penance, you must complete a mission on Heresy (difficulty four) or higher in under 10 minutes, with one wound remaining for 75% of that time. That alone is incredibly difficult, due to both how much damage you need to take and maintain for a massive portion of the mission. This also means you can’t die, or else that time won’t count towards the total time with less than one wound. If you were to attempt this legitimately, you would need a perfectly crafted build that doesn’t provide you with healing and an excellent weapon set, plus you’d need to be incredibly skilled at Zealot to have a chance to pull it off.

That’s not what we’re going to do. See, as per the wording, you need to complete a mission with these parameters. That doesn’t mean you need to complete the mission successfully. If you can manage to get into a mission by yourself, you can have the bots die, get yourself low, then merely stay in one place until you’ve spent 75% of the mission time there. Then, get yourself killed and get the challenge. This is, of course, quite cheesy, though it will get the job done.

If you are crazy enough to go for this legitimately, we suggest going with your best weapons and feats that benefit your damage at low health, including Retribution at level 10 and Honour the Martyr at level 25. Under no circumstance should you go Faith Restores All or Holy Revenant at level 20, as both of these perks will serve to harm you more than help you, ironically.

While Just a Flesh Wound is one of the hardest penances to complete in Darktide, you at least have a way to cheese it should you get fed up. More practice with Zealot also wouldn’t hurt.
