Presents full of cosmetics are always expected when the Winterfest arrives in Fortnite, and this time, there are some additional free items that players can get their hands on. Before the 2022 event comes to a close in Fortnite Chapter 4, you’ll want to claim the Guff Gringle skin for your account.

Unlike most of the free event cosmetics though, the latest Guff skin isn’t part of the presents in the Cozy Lodge. Instead, it’s a cosmetic that you’ll have to claim on your own, and not everyone has access to it either. Claiming the skin is simple enough if you grab it in time, but some platforms are left out.

Before looking for the free skin based on Guff and Santa Claus mixed together, it’s important to make sure you’re on the right platform. Only Fortnite players who are on PC will be able to take advantage of the festive skin. For the skin to show up at all in the menus, players must log in through the Epic Games launcher which is exclusive to PC. Accounts are linked across platforms, so you can always download the game fast on PC and claim the skin there, but consoles are left out.

To claim the Guff Gringle skin itself on PC, simply head to the item shop and scroll towards the bottom of all the options. Make sure to check out the “Special Offers” and bundles section and the first skin you’ll find is the festive Guff. Though it says you need to purchase the skin, it doesn’t actually cost anything, so feel free to grab that bundle.

Guff Gringle won’t last in the shop forever, so if you want the Fortnite version of Santa Claus, you’ll need to make the claim while Winterfest 2022 is active. Players will have from December 13 to January 3, 2023, to grab the free skin. Afterward, you may just have to wait another year.
