How to Change Time of Day in the Somniel in Fire Emblem Engage

Eighteen hours in bed is time well spent

If there’s one thing that Fire Emblem Engage is full of, its extracurricular activities. Somniel, beyond being a Sanctuary from the Fell Dragon and all the worries of the world below, is essentially your own pocket theme park / resort, with no shortage of things to do. But not all activities can be accessed at all times. Sometimes, it needs to be a particular time of day. To that end, here’s how to change the time of day in the Somniel in Fire Emblem Engage.

How to Change Time of Day in the Somniel in Fire Emblem Engage

If you’ve recruited the fortune teller in Fire Emblem Engage, you’ll quickly realize that the shop is not always tended. This nocturnal spirit tends to only divine when the sun has set, and while his information placard says he’s available in the evenings, this wasn’t the case when I tried.

No, the best time to see him is at night.

But how do you get the sun to set on the Somniel? If you’ve returned to your floating paradise between every skirmish and story mission, you’ve likely noticed that the passage of time on Somniel is certainly a thing. But the way to control it is not immediately apparent.

Running around the island will not cause the island to change time, nor will completing activities. Believe me, I tried. Instead, there are only two methods to change the clock consistently:

The first is to simply head to your head bedroom. There, you can choose to lay your dear Divine Dragon head on the pillow, and the game will shift one segment into the future. So, if it’s morning, it will shift to afternoon. If it’s afternoon, then it will shift into evening, and so on.

The second method is to engage in a Skirmish or story mission and return to the Somniel. This will also change the time by one segment… but it’s far less efficient.
