Can You Change Your Profession in Stardew Valley?

You can change professions by visiting the Statue of Uncertainty in the Sewers.

Your profession in Stardew Valley dictates how much profit you will receive for certain items. If you choose the wrong one, you could be missing out on some serious benefits. If so, you will want to pay a visit to the Statue of Uncertainty in the Sewer.

The Sewer is one of the most mysterious locations in Stardew Valley and will remain locked at the beginning of the game. To unlock the Sewer, you will need to donate 60 unique items to Gunther at the Museum. These items can include rare crystals, gems, and artifacts that you can find in the Mines or by digging up Artifact Spots. Fishing Treasure Chests will also contain some of these valuable items.

Once you’ve donated 60 pieces to the Museum, Gunther will give you the Rusty Key that you can take to the Sewer Manhole in the Cemetery. Use the Rusty Key to open the Manhole Cover and enter the Sewer. The Sewer has plenty of secrets to discover, like rare fish that you can catch in the green waters, a new character named Krobus, and, of course, the Statue of Uncertainty.

The Statue of Uncertainty allows you to change your profession, but it does come at a cost. The Statue calls for an offering of 10,000g. This is a steep price, but it could prove worth it if switching allows you to earn more for the items you find yourself focusing on at your farm. To change your profession, approach the Statue of Uncertainty, cough up 10,000g, and select the skill you wish to change. Your profession will switch over while you sleep and you will be ready to start fresh the next day with your brand new profession!
