How To Change Flying Controls In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk

I believe I can fly (as long as the controls are inverted)

It seems that Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are finally letting us use our Legendary Pokemon to their full potential, now that they can fly throughout the areas that they’re in. However, you may find the controls to be cumbersome, so let’s find out how to change that.

Can You Change Flying Controls in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk?

If you’re anything like me, and spent countless hours playing other flying games like Ace Combat or Wingman, you’re more than likely used to inverted flight controls. When you push down, the nose of your plane or flying apparatus goes up, and the reverse for the opposite. Thankfully, you can change the controls with a quick visit to the Options menu. Press X on your controller of choice to bring up the standard menu, and head into options.

From here, you’ll want to scroll to the bottom of all the available options and search for Controls while Flying. If you’re hoping to switch things around, you can move the switch to Inverted, which will reverse the up and down controls, making things easier for players who are more accustomed to other flying games. Believe me, it makes a world of difference, especially once you learn how to fly throughout Paldea.

Once you’ve unlocked flying, you’ll just need to click in the left thumbstick while gliding, and you’ll be ready to take to the skies. There is no Stamina bar to worry about, so you can keep soaring to your heart’s content while searching for new Pokemon to capture.
