How to Change Factions in Gray Zone Warfare

Pick a side

Factions play a vital role in determining the enjoyment players get from Gray Zone Warfare. The newly-released tactical shooter is a co-op experience at its core, and hence, playing with friends is a crucial activity. Being in the same faction is mandatory, and if you made a wrong choice, there’s a way to rectify the mistake. Here’s how to change Factions in Gray Zone Warfare.

Gray Zone Warfare: How to Change Faction

The process of changing factions is a challenging one, as you’ll lose all progress. To change your faction, you’ll have to undergo a complete account wipe. Once you have done so, you’ll have to create a new character. Once you create the new character, you have to pick one of the three available factions.

Here are all the available options:

  • Lamang Recovery Initiative
  • Mithras Security Systems
  • Crimson Shield International

You can select any from the three available factions, but there will be differences. While the format of every quest remains the same for all factions, the map squares will differ. This is why you can only form parties with other players in the same faction.

There are certain fundamental shortcomings in Gray Zone Warfare, which is natural given its early access status. While it wasn’t possible to change your faction at first, that’s no longer the case. A previous patch added this option after many players complained about the lack of the important feature.

In fact, you’ll need to be in the same faction as your friend if you want to enjoy the game together. Hence, getting the ability to switch your faction is a great addition.

While Gray Zone Warfare has already become incredibly popular among gamers, several important updates are expected. It’s currently in early access, and Madfinger Games has promised that there will be plenty of new content. While the current way to change factions does the job, fans will hope an alternate system will be implemented that won’t involve a data wipe.
