How to Put New Chocobo Barding on Your Chocobo in Final Fantasy XIV
Once you have unlocked the new Chocobo Barding and popped it open in your inventory, you may be wondering why your Chocobo isn’t wearing its new outfit. This is an easy fix and will only require a few moments of your time. Bring up your main menu screen, and navigate to the Companion setting under Character. This will bring up your Company Chocobo menu, which has a few different options available to you.
Once you are in the Companion menu, you’ll want to navigate to the Appearance menu at the top of the screen. Inside this menu, you’ll see the Current Color of your Chocobo pal alongside the option to equip new gear. With selectable slots for Head, Chest, and Feet, you can decide to either mix and match between pieces of gear that you already have or go for a full set. For example, the Chocobo that I’m riding in the main image is using the Behemoth Barding, which is available in the Realm Reborn Collectors Edition.
How Do I Unlock More Bardings For My Chocobo in Final Fantasy XIV?
If you’re hoping to unlock some new Bardings for your Chocobo, you can always speak with Jonathas in Old Gridania (coordinates X:10.6 Y:6.3). He’s near the waterfall, and you can swap Achievement Certificates with him to unlock new Bardings that you can slap onto your bird.
