How to Catch a Wisp Spirit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

So, you want to know how to catch a wisp spirit in Animal Crossing New Horizons, huh? Well, it’s probably because you’ve found yourself a spooky little companion at night called Wisp. He looks a little bit like a Mario Brothers enemy, honestly, but you don’t need to be scared. Think of him like a haunted version of Gulliver, mainly because you’re going to have to help him look for things. Yes, you heard that right. More fetch quests.

When you find Wisp, it’ll be some undetermined time at night on your island. Wisp will basically be so shocked that you’ve talked to him that he’ll poop out a whole bunch of spirit shards, and yes, your job will then be to find them. Just like the Communicator Parts for Gulliver, you have to find Wisp spirits in quantities of 5 to get Wisp some closure. So, without further ado, here’s our guide on how to catch a Wisp Spirit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Wisp spirits will look like little spooky flames drifting around your island. To catch them, it’s basically like catching bugs. You’re just going to want to get up within net’s range and swoop in to catch said Wisp spirit in your trap. While Gulliver’s Communicator Parts only spawn on beaches, these Wisp spirits can spawn anywhere on your island at all so you’re just going to have to run some laps around until you pick up 5 of them. Once you’ve caught 5, bring them back to Wisp to get him to move along.

After you’ve returned 5 Wisp spirits to your trusty new pal, you’re going to have the option of picking a reward from one of these two options – something expensive, or something new. Of course, it wouldn’t be Animal Crossing without a gamble; ghosts don’t have a very good value on human currency, so something that Wisp thinks is expensive might be worthless. If you pick the Something New option, you’ll always end up with something that you haven’t owned before, so that might be a good choice for a collector.

Now that you have our advice on how to catch a Wisp Spirit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it should be easy for you to befriend your new pal and to get some cool rewards thanks to the power of friendship. Sure, it’s nice being an altruistic mate, but it’s also great to get something back for the effort that you’re putting in. Need help with anything else in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
