White-Striped Basculin has been introduced in Pokemon GO during Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global. The third Basculin variant was introduced to the series with Pokemon Legends: Arceus and evolved into the behemoth Basculegion. Here’s how to obtain this retro fish in Pokemon GO.
Where to Find White Striped Basculin in Pokemon GO
White-Striped Basculin may look rather peculiar compared to its red and blue counterparts, but it has the last laugh as it evolves into Basculegion. But, at the time of publication, it currently does not evolve in Pokemon GO. Currently, the only way to encounter a White-Striped Baculin during Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global is by participating in the Routes feature and hoping that one will spawn while you do so.
How to Find Routes in Pokemon GO
Finding a Route in Pokemon GO is relatively simple, or at least it is if you live in a location that has Routes nearby.
- Check the Route tab from the Nearby menu to see local Routes.
- Choose one that catches your eye.
- Follow the Route and enjoy exploring!
Is White-Striped Basculin Shiny in Pokemon GO?
It is a shame that White-Striped Basculin doesn’t evolve into Basculegion yet. That doesn’t mean that the introduction of the funky fish into Pokemon GO isn’t exciting. It’s hit or miss whether Niantic introduces a shiny variant at the same time as a regular, but White-Striped Basculin can be Shiny in Pokemon GO. Unfortunately, the Shiny version looks similar to its original counterpart and is easy to overlook. They are both green, with the Shiny version being a lighter hue with slightly off-colored fins.
White-Striped Basculin brings us one Pokemon closer to having a complete PokeDex. While Arceus, Phione, and Manaphy remain to be seen. We have our hands full with the introduction of Adventure Effects due to Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia.
