PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been promising custom matches for a while, and now players will finally have a chance to set up their own matches and start inviting all of their friends. Things are a little barebones right now, but you can hop into the testing servers and start trying it out so long as you know how to setup a custom match in PUBG. There are a couple of things to take into account, but here’s everything you need to know to set up a custom match in PUBG.
How to Setup a Custom Match in PUBG
The first thing you need to take into account right now is that the developers have put a limit on how many custom matches can take place at any given time. Due to the high volume of players that will be trying to set things up, PUBG will only allow for 10,000 concurrent custom matches to run in order to ensure maximum stability in the system.
To get started with your own custom matches, you’re going to need to download the PUBG Test Server. Once the Test Server is installed, launch the application and wait for it to load up. Once the game loads up, head to the Play tab and select Custom Match.
Here you’ll be able to choose from Normal, Zombie, War, or Esports mode. If you select a mode here you will be shown a list of all the current active sessions available.
If you aren’t interested in joining a match that’s already set up, back out and click the Create button in the bottom left-hand corner. This will open up a new window where you can choose all the different preset options you want—like what map you play on, as well as other important settings.
Once you’re ready, select Create and you’ll be shown a page of all the current participants. You can also set up a password for private events, and eventually you’ll be able to set up a spectator password, which will give users access to the game’s spectator mode only.
That’s really all there is to creating a custom match in PUBG. Keep in mind that the system is still being tested, and there may be bugs and other issues.
