How to Save in Devolverland Expo

Find out whether you can save your progress and pick up where you left off in Devolverland Expo.

Devolverland Expo is a brand new free-to-play game from developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Devolver Digital. The game is a fun way to explore an alternate version of E3 that’s been overtaken by Devolver Digital.

You can explore the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center, and you can watch trailers for upcoming Devolver games. But, one of the most important questions that’s bound to come up is… can you save in Devolverland Expo?

How to Save in Devolverland Expo

The quick answer to the question of how to save in Devolverland Expo is that you can’t. Devolverland Expo is an extremely short game that takes a little under an hour to beat in most cases.

Given the brevity of the game, it seems like you’re expected to finish the game in a single sitting. An option to save and exit the game has not been included. If you press ESC and select “Main Menu” you won’t be given the option to continue playing where you left off.

You’re only given the option to start a new game.

Even more infuriating, if the game crashes on you and you start the game up again, your only option is to begin a new game. Yes, no matter if you close your game or it crashes on you, you have to start all over again.

In the future, it’s possible that developer Flying Wild Hog will add a save feature to the game and we certainly hope they do. We understand the game is short, but life is full of unexpected surprises, like computer crashes.

In situations like that, it’s nice to be able to jump back in where you left off as opposed to having to start at the beginning.

You can run through parts you know, but you’ll have to re-watch trailers you’ve already watched as you’re required to watch these trailers to progress to the next area in Devolverland Expo.

For example, you’ll need to watch the Carrion trailer and Weird West trailer in order to proceed to the North Hall from the South Hall. If you don’t watch these trailers, the door will be locked.

You can’t skip these trailers, you’re required to watch them up until a certain point when you can press E to exit.

To recap, there’s no save option available in Devolverland Expo. If you close the game or the game crashes, you’ll have to start all over again.

We advise you set aside an uninterrupted hour of time to play Devolverland Expo and close any programs that may cause your computer to crash while you play the game. You know, just in case.
