The Waylanders Early Access Release Date

The Waylanders will be headed into Steam early access on June 16 and will cost $34.99, which will increase if you wait to buy the full game at launch. Players who purchase early access will be able to play around 10-12 hours of the upcoming full 40-hour game. Further, The Waylanders early access will include 40 different mapped areas that players can explore across eight different regions.

If you’re not familiar with The Waylanders, it is set during the first meeting between the Celts and their gods. Things go wrong during the meeting, resulting in medieval Spain’s corruption. Further, the kingdom has been divided into different power hungry factions and players will have to select their alliance, explore different areas, and much more as they fight to survive. The Waylanders will also have multiple endings, which will be largely dependent on the choices that players make during the game.

“Our community is the best and most useful asset we have, we want to listen to all of you,” reads a statement from Gato Studio. “Early Access allows us to work side-by-side with the community and that’s why we want to release an early version ahead of the final launch. Your feedback will be a gamechanger. We take your comments very seriously and we intend to review all the reports you send in…We are here to listen to your opinion.”

At the time of writing, The Waylanders does not have an official release date and is expected to stay in early access “between late 2020 and early 2021.” There are currently three confirmed main characters and five races that will be present in the game. Players will also be joined by a handful of companions that will accompany them throughout the game and will help them complete loyalty missions. Additionally, players will be able to time travel between two different eras, Celtic and Medieval.
