Precious Gems in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey are one of six primary material that players will need to farm and acquire if they want to be able to continually upgrade the equipment that they find throughout the game. While getting more Precious Gems in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey isn’t the most difficult item in the game to obtain, knowing some of the best ways to get Precious Gems will prove to be invaluable in your quest. That’s why we’ve put together this handy article, which will go over everything you need to know to get Precious Gems in Assassins Creed Odyssey.
How to Get Precious Gems
There are two primary methods for farming for Precious Gems in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The first method is to complete mercenary kills. As you explore the world of Ancient Greece, blowing up ships and raiding things like camps can slowly increase the bounty on your head throughout the realm. When this happens, bounty hunters (also known as mercenaries) will be sent after you.
Defeating these mercenaries will reward you greatly. Not only will you be able to upgrade your mercenary tier, but you’ll also be rewarded quite handsomely for the job that you do taking out these mercenaries. You don’t necessarily have to wait until you have a bounty to take them on, either. If you open up your menu—where your map and Quests can be found—and tab over to the Mercenary tab, you can see all the mercenaries that you’ve discovered, as well as their levels. You can then choose to track them, allowing you to hunt them down in the game world.
If hunting down mercenaries isn’t your cup of tea, then you can also acquire Precious Gems by completing bounties, which can be found on Message Boards throughout the world. Walk up to these message boards—they should be marked on your map if you’ve explored the area—and you can accept several different quests ranging from kill orders to gathering missions. Complete them to earn rewards like Precious Gems and other things.
A third way to stock up on Precious Gems—though not the best way, as the amount you receive is based on the rarity of the gear—is dismantling gear. You won’t receive much for Common or Rare items, but if you can get your hands on some Epic items that you don’t need, then you can start dismantling them for some additional Precious Gems.
