Dig, bury, dig, bury.

Below, we’ll walk you through how to get Gyroids and what to do with Gyroid Fragments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

How to Get Gyroids, Gyroid Fragments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

  • Visit islands through Kapp’n’s Boat Tours (1,000 Nook Miles)
  • Dig marks on the ground, similar to digging for Fossils, to unearth Gyroid Fragments.
  • Take these Gyroid Fragments back to your island and bury them in holes.
  • Use a Watering Can to water your buried Gyroid Fragments.
  • Return the following day and dig up your Gyroid.

The question of how to get Gyroids and what to do with Gyroid Fragments both have a similar answer in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. To get Gyroids or Gyroid Fragments, all you need to do is a little digging on islands you visit through Kapp’n’s Boat Tours.

Note that Kapp’n’s Boat Tours will cost you 1,000 Nook Miles per trip.

The digging process for unearthing Gyroid Fragments on islands visited through Kapp’n’s Boat Tours is the same as when you dig up Fossils. Simply look for a mark on the ground that indicates something is buried underneath, use your shovel, and dig it up for a chance to find Fossils or in this case, Gyroid Fragments.

When you’ve found a Gyroid Fragment, you’ll need to return to your island and bury it in a hole. Then, water it with a Watering Can until you see steam rise up. Return the next day and dig where you buried the Gyroid Fragment to get a Gyroid.

Gyroids make musical little sounds when set up inside your home as decor and are quite charming. Plus, there are many variations you can find from Drummoids to Squeezoids and more.

Additionally, Gyroids come into play when unlocking Brewster. In our guide on how to unlock Brewster, we explain that after taking Kapp’n’s Boat Tours and reaching an island, this is what you need to do:

“Once you’re on the island look around and you’ll find Brewster, an owl in a safari cap, and a killer mustache. Talk to brewster who will then give you a Gyroid Fragment and teach you how to plant and water Gyroids.”

So not only can you dig up Gyroid Fragments on islands visited through Kapp’n’s Boat Tours, you can also meet Brewster and learn more about Gyroids and Gyroid Fragments from him, which results in you receiving a Gryoid Fragment.

To recap, Gyroids can be acquired by finding and burying Gyroid Fragments. The quickest way to get Gyroid Fragments is through Kapp’n’s Boat Tours. These Gyroid Fragments will need to be re-buried and then dug up again later in order to get yourself a whole, complete Gyroid.

We hope this guide has helped!
