How to Find Earth Crystal

Finding Earth Crystal in Monster Hunter: World is going to be tough at first. But, once you know what you’re doing it shouldn’t be too difficult to do. This material is likely going to be one of the first materials that you have to search for, and it will get you used to the material hunting that will become pretty standard throughout the rest of the game.

You won’t be able to acquire Earth Crystal until after you unlock the first quest that takes you to the Wildspire Waste. This quest is called ‘The Best Kind of Quest’, and it will unlock the new area for you, giving you access to new materials, as well as some new monsters to hunt and get items from. Like most ore-based materials, Earth Crystal will be found in small blue crystal nodes that poke out of the ground, so try to keep an eye out for these as you explore the Wildspire Waste.

Of course, it’s not going to be that easy, and mining these small outcroppings will usually only reward you with some Iron Ore. But, if you’re lucky enough, you’ll also acquire some Earth Crystal, which will put you ever closer to your goals of leveling up your gear. Because of how rare these materials can be, we’d highly suggest choosing a weapon that you like early on and sticking with it throughout the upgrade trees. Otherwise you’ll need to go back to previous areas and gather materials all over again in order to level it up.

We’d suggest taking your time and collecting as much Earth Crystal as you can when you’re out and about on an Expedition. This is also a perfect time to hunt down some additional beasts and collect any materials from them that you might need—or want to sell. Remember that items can always be made use of—even if it’s only to get your hands on more Zenny—and having access to them when needed will cut down on a good bit of the grind that you’d see in Monster Hunter: World.
