October 1st will be an exhilarating day for the Destiny 2 community thanks to the upcoming launches of New Light (the free-to-play version of the franchise) and the highly anticipated Shadowkeep expansion. One of the most significant changes that will be occurring for Destiny 2 with the additions of New Light and Shadowkeep will you be the ability for players to cross-save their progress from different platforms. This means you will be able to defeat the Darkness with the same Guardian on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
How to Enable Cross-Save for Destiny 2: Shadowkeep
The process for activating the cross-save feature for Destiny 2 ahead of the release of New Light and Shadowkeep is not a complex one. Players only need to head to the feature’s page on the official Bungie website. You will then authenticate each of the accounts you would like to be affected by the feature on Steam, Xbox Live, and the PlayStation Network. There is an option for Battle.net. However, Destiny 2 will be switching over to Steam officially on October 1st. This means that you will need to have a Steam account to cross-save with consoles if you are a PC player.
You will then need to select which characters on your different platforms you would like to be affected by the Destiny 2 cross-save feature for New Light and Shadowkeep. Finally, you can double-check to make sure you have all the desired accounts and characters selected and linked and complete the cross-save registration process.
