Nintendo has randomly released a free to play jump rope game for the Nintendo Switch. Here's how to download it for free.

Nintendo’s Jump Rope Challenge is a free to play game that will challenge players to get in a little bit of exercise while playing their Switch. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to download Jump Rope Challenge so you can get started on some exercises.

How to Download Nintendo’s Jump Rope Challenge

Jump Rope Challenge is currently available to download for free in the Nintendo eShop. To download it onto your Switch, simply head to the shop and search for Jump Rope Challenge. Click on the game page and you’ll see the option to download it for free. Since the game is only 78MB, it won’t take long to download and it will hardly take up any space on your Switch, which is pretty much a dream come true.

If you’re not sure about the Jump Rope Challenge, it’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Switch users are challenged to jump rope as many times as possible. Thanks to the motion-controlled Joycons, simply hold it in your hand and get to jumping. The game will track your jumps over a period of time, allow you to set goals, and will even let you compete with your friends. While it doesn’t support online play, as long as you have two Joycons, you’ll both be able to get in on the jump rope action.

Jump Rope Challenge isn’t the only exercise focused game that Nintendo has released on the Switch. Late last year, Nintendo released Ring Fit Adventure, an exercise-focused game that requires players to hold onto a special ring as they complete various fitness-related activities. In fact, since everyone is stuck at home due to COVID-19, Ring Fit Adventure is in high demand and is actually pretty difficult to find, and purchasing it online will cost an excessive amount of money.

Since Ring Fit Adventure is so hard to come by, it’s nice to see that Nintendo has made a free to play, exercise focused alternative that anyone can download at their leisure. If you’re interested in learning more, you can check out the official game page.
