The Simulated Universe has tons of different events and occurrences that can happen in a myriad of different ways. The Mirror of Transcendence is one of them, and it has plenty of different outcomes depending on which choices you pick. Here’s how it works in Honkai: Star Rail.
Mirror of Transcendence Occurance in Honkai: Star Rail Explained
The Mirror of Transcendence event is available on all Simulated Universe modes (regular, Swarm Disaster, or Gold and Gears) and can appear anytime you enter an Occurance domain. After a few lines of dialogue, you’re presented with two options: ask for a reward or get out of the mirror.
What the game doesn’t tell you is that you’ll need to pick both of these options on different occasions to see this occurrence’s follow-up events. You have to pick the first option consecutively to witness Part III, while you only need to pick the second option once to see Part II.
Picking the First Option in Mirror of Transcendence
If you choose “Silently recite what you want.”, you have a chance to get many random rewards, ranging from Cosmic Fragments to various Blessings or Curios. The exact occurrences are:

All results are quite favorable for a run, so this option is always a safe one. If you have already encountered Mirror of Transcendence (Part 2) once in any run, picking this one three times consecutively in a single SU run turns the fourth encounter into Mirror of Transcendence (Part 3). While it’s rare to keep encountering the same one again and again, it’s not impossible. Just a very rare occurrence.
Picking the Second Option in Mirror of Transcendence
If you choose “Make a wish to get her out of the mirror”, you’ll enter a battle with an Elite enemy, obtaining two 3-star Blessings on your victory. The next Mirror of Transcendence event you get is guaranteed to be Mirror of Transcendence (Part 2). This is the better choice when your run is close to ending, as you’re guaranteed to get more powerful rewards from it. As long as you can deal with the enemies, of course.
Picking a Mirror of Transcendence in a run does not give you a 100% chance that your next Occurrence will also be Mirror of Transcendence. You could get lucky, but don’t rely on that. This makes Part 3 one of the rarest Occurrences to get.
You’ll need a lot of runs if you’re really adamant about finishing your Occurences collection. And there are also lots of rare Curios to get after you’re done with those, so good luck!
