How Do You Use Armor Picker (Armor Optimizer for Destiny 2)

My toxic trait is that I already think my build is perfect.

Destiny 2’s a looter-shooter with a heavy emphasis on the loot. It can be a lot to manage, especially if you’re trying to optimize your character to have the best stats possible. Fortunately, there are plenty of free apps that can help streamline this process and keep you from spending an hour combing through your vault in search of that perfectly rolled armor. That includes the Armor Picker (Armor Optimizer) for Destiny 2. Here’s how to use it.

How Do You Use Armor Picker (Armor Optimizer for Destiny 2)

Step 1:

Once you’ve downloaded the app, open it and authorize your account with Bungie.Net. This is an essential step and worth the hassle, as you’ll need to be able to make changes to your Destiny account through your phone. The app might require you to log into your account. Do so, then enable DIM sync.

Step 2:

Select the platform you play Destiny on. You can select multiple if necessary. Then approve Armor Picker’s access to your account.

Step 3:

Now that you’re all logged in, the fun begins. You’ll be dropped into a menu screen with all of your playable characters. Select the character you want to create your armor set for by clicking their banner.

Step 4:

You’ll then land on an armor menu. Check each armor component (Helmet, Arms, Chests, Legs). You’ll see that all the armor for each of these sections is already selected. If they’re selected, that means they’ll be considered when you run optimization.

Unselect any armor you don’t want considered for optimization.

Step 5:

Return to the armor menu for your character. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see a large burgundy-violet button that says “~Run Optimizer~”. Click it.

Step 6: How to Use Destiny Item Manager (DIM) for Destiny 2

The optimizer will then show you a variety of armor sets. The first armor set shown will be your current armor set, which will then be given a rating, such as “Eh, could do better.” or “Lookin’ good, Guardian!”

The higher the number, the better the potential set. Click on “equip set,” and your character in Destiny will automatically equip it.

The armor picker is an excellent app if you want to see if you have any hidden gems in your vault. Good luck finding that perfect build, Guardian!
