How to Complete Holo-Tag Challenges in Hyper Scape

What the heck is a holo-tag?
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Ubisoft’s Hyper Scape is well into its first week of the initial season, following the console release. PC players have had plenty of time with the game, but console players are still figuring everything out. Part of that is some of the game’s jargon, which isn’t always as clear as it could be. For example, several players out there are running into a daily challenge asking them to “use a holo-tag at the Red Tiger.”

How to Complete the Holo-Tag Challenge in Hyper Scape

This is more simple than it seems, despite some of the confusion in the community (as evidenced by several Reddit threads asking the same question). Some players are trying to ping the area around the Red Tiger, and trying many other things and coming up short. The reality is that “holo-tag” is just the Hyper Scape jargon term for “spray.” To choose a spray you just need to set one in the Locker area in the game hub, then once you’re in a game and find the Red Tiger again, simply choose the holo-tag option in your emotes.

Once you do that, you should knock the daily challenge right out, and be prepared for any other holo-tag related challenges you run into later. As a general rule, it’s always a good idea to poke around in a new game’s menu a bit to learn all the terms, especially when the tutorial section is more concerned with the major gameplay components. Hyper Scape teaches you how to shoot, fuse weapons, and use hacks right out of the gate, but it doesn’t necessarily tell you how to use holo-tags.

Hyper Scape’s daily challenges are a part of the game’s primary progression system, which is a fairly typical Battle Pass system you’d expect to see in a battle royale game. There are two tracks, one free and one premium, with the free track also connecting to Amazon Prime. Completing challenges in the daily and weekly menus earns players extra Battle Points, which are the primary experience point collectible they’ll need to move up the tiers.

Are you enjoying the challenge system in Hyper Scape? Are you daily and weekly challenges feeling appropriate for what they ask and give you in return?
