If you’ve collected a few hats already and are unsure how to equip them, we’ve got you covered with a quick guide on changing hats in Kirby Fighters 2!

How to Change Hats in Kirby Fighters 2

In Kirby Fighters 2, you can change hats in the character selection menu. When you hover over a character, you’ll be able to see whether or not they have additional hat options in the upper left corner of your player icon.

For example, if you’re P1, you’ll see your username at the bottom of your screen and the character you’re hovering over. If the character has additional hat options, all you need to do is press “X” to cycle between them.

When you find one you like, you can press “A” to begin playing the mode you’ve selected, like Battle Mode.

If you just want to look at the hats and not select that particular character, don’t press “A” just keep cycle through the hats with “X” and then use your thumbstick or D-Pad to continue moving between characters in the selection menu.

To unlock hats for your characters you’ll need to play the game and level up your Fighter Rank. You can also earn a free hat right away (Hero Sword Hat) if you’ve been playing Super Kirby Clash.

A few examples of hats you’ll earn as you level up your Fighter Rank include the Blade Knight Helm at Fighter Rank 15, the Heart Bomb Hat at Fighter Rank 27, Marx’s Hat at Fighter Rank 38, and the Sumo Topknot at Fighter Rank 41.

As of right now, there’s no in-game show where you can spend in-game currency to buy hats.

The only way to get hats is to earn them by leveling up your Fighter Rank, and through promotions like getting a free hat when you play Super Kirby Clash.

To recap, you can change hats in the character selection menu when you’re hovering over that character. Press “X” to cycle between hats, and “A” when you’ve found the hat you want and you’re ready to begin the game.
