There are quite a few rare Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go that players can find and catch and Mewtwo is by far one of the most difficult to catch. There are quite a few things you’ll need to do to prepare for your encounter with this legendary Pokémon in you want to catch Mewtwo in Pokémon: Let’s Go. How to Catch Mewtwo

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to get your hands on this legendary Pokémon until much later in your Pokémon adventure. In fact, you’re going to need to defeat the Elite Four and become the Pokémon League Champion. Once you’ve completed this first task, it’s time to travel to Cerulean City, where you can now access Cerulean Cave.

To find Cerulean Cave, head to Cerulean City and then make your way to Nugget Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, use Sea Skim to cross the water and find the entrance to Cerulean Cave. You can now enter the cave and explore it. You’ll need to use Sea Skim to cross the water channel inside, and then take the solitary ladder that you find up to the next level of the cave. From here, continue northward until you reach another ladder. This will lead you to the chamber where Mewtwo awaits. But the journey is far from over.

Mewtwo is by far one of the most difficult Pokémon to catch in Pokémon: Let’s Go and you’ re going to need all the help you can get. Make sure you save your game before you interact with Mewtwo at all, as this will allow you to reload the game should you fail to catch the Pokémon before it runs away. Also, make sure you prepare all of your Pokémon before going up against Mewtwo, as this is a very difficult battle to undertake.

While you can go about taking down Mewtwo any way that you like, one of the best ways to go about catching this legendary Pokémon is to teach TM21, also know as Foul Play to your Mew. If you haven’t scored yourself a Mew, then make sure you learn how to get Mew in Pokémon: Let’s Go. Of course, if you don’t have a Mew and can’t get one, then you can also use another Psychic type Pokémon in place of Mew.

So, because Mewtwo is such a powerful Pokémon, you can use Foul Play to turn its own damage against it. This allows you to effectively void any damage that Mewtwo would do to your Pokémon, so long as you’re using a Pokémon like Mew or another Psychic type, as Mewtwo’s attacks will be ineffective against Psychic type Pokémon. You can quickly cut Mewtwo’s health down 50%, which is extremely vital as the Pokémon can use Recover, and the battle has a five-minute battle timer that you’ll need to combat as well.

The trick is to keep using Foul Play against Mewtwo until you manage to defeat the legendary Pokémon, allowing you a chance to catch him. You’ll want to use the Master Ball you earned by defeating Team Rocket at the Silph Co. building, as it will automatically catch Mewtwo without any trouble. Once you’ve caught the Pokémon, save your game as soon as possible to avoid any possible issues or. Of course, this isn’t the only strategy you can use to catch Mewtwo, however it’s the method that helped us catch one of the most powerful Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go.
