If you feel like the new end-game modes aren’t enough, Honkai: Star Rail has brought even more powerful opponents for you to face in a new event. Virtual Scentventure brings a few bosses in a powered-up version, and here’s what you need to know about it.
Virtual Scentventure Event Guide in Honkai: Star Rail
This new event runs from January 17 to February 5, 2024 and requires completion of the Trailblaze Mission “Jarilo VI – Silent Galaxy” to begin. Once you do, start the namesake quest and speak with Arlan to begin your tests at the nearby chair. The tests are merely a fight against various boss enemies, but they have plenty of buffs to accompany them.
They’re based on the regular version we see in the Forgotten Hall/Pure Fiction fights, so they’re two phases at maximum. The game also provides you with enough buffs and Trial characters to easily deal with those fights, as well as giving you tips on how you can proceed to defeat them.
Each fight has different possible buffs and free characters, so pick the ones that fit your account the best for each round. You’ll need some coverage to deal with all challenges, but Trial characters are always more than enough to get all rewards.
Everlasting Dream
- Recommended team: Seele, Silver Wolf, Ruan Mei, Lynx
- Recommended buffs: Garlic-Flavored, Pickle Pepper-Flavored
When fighting against the Abundant Ebon Deer, you’ll need to beat at least one of his adds before you can start Breaking his toughness bar. Seele is perfect for that as she can easily one-shot one of these with her Skill and hit the boss right away. Once she gets enough energy, her Ultimate can remove a huge chunk of his Toughness too, so she’s highly recommended even if it’s just the Trial version.
Silver Wolf will help a lot with buffs/debuffs, while also being able to take away one of the adds by herself if they’re low enough. Ruan Mei can be replaced with Pela or another Harmony like Tingyun to further boost Seele, and Lynx’s the perfect healer for this fight as she can cleanse as needed.
If you don’t want to bring these characters, there are plenty of other DPS that work well here such as Qingque, Jingliu, or Himeko, so just bring what works best for you. Just make sure you keep Breaking the Deer as quickly as possible.
Confusing Lies
- Recommended Team: Ruan Mei, Dan Heng IL, Bronya, Lynx
- Recommended Buffs: Peony-Scented, Honey-Flavored
Your goal here is to break Kafka’s toughness as soon as possible, so you want characters that do just that as quickly as possible. Dan Heng is perfect for that if you toss your whole team’s SP at him, and bringing Ruan Mei speeds up the process even if she cannot break directly. Change Bronya for any other Harmony you have like Tingyun, Hanya or Yukong if you don’t own her.
Alternatively, your newly-built Dr. Ratio is great for the job too, as well as fast characters like Seele who can get constant resets from the minions she summons.
Fighting against Kafka is always annoying as you’ll need some cleanse eventually. Fortunately, Lynx has it in her Ultimate, so everyone can get rid of her mind-controlling debuff easily. She also has Quantum weakness here, for some reason. Silver Wolf gets some extra value here thanks to that, so she allows your whole team to Break Kafka easily.
Other characters that do particularly well here include Argenti, Clara, Blade and Xueyi as they all do a great job of deplating her Toughness. Once you Break her, she’ll take a long time to recover (especially if it was an Imaginary Break), so it’ll be more than enough to push her to the next phase, where all you gotta do is to repeat what worked well at first.
Other fights will be added as they’re unlocked, so keep your eyes open if you want to get those maximum rewards for more characters.
