Pokemon GO players cannot seem to get enough of Charmander, and it makes sense due to it being the most popular starter Pokemon from the Kanto region. On top of this, Charizard has two Mega forms to also take into consideration! And so, Charmander is set to make its third event appearance during September’s Pokemon GO Community Day Classic.

Date and Time
The latest Pokemon GO Community Day Classic, featuring Charmander, will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Featured Attack
Charizard will receive two Featured Attacks upon evolving it from Charmeleon.
Fast Attack – Dragon Breath
• Trainer Battles: 4 Power
• Gyms and Raids: 6 Power
Charged Attack – Blast Burn
• Trainer Battles: 110 Power
• Gyms and Raids: 110 Power
Note: Players must evolve Charmeleon into Charizard either during the event or up to two hours after the event ends to receive a Charizard with the above attacks.
Field Research
During the event, spinning PokeStops will reward players with Community Day Classic themed Field Research. Completing these tasks will potentially reward players with items such as the following:
• Additional Charmander encounters with a possibility of encountering a shiny.
• Stardust
• Great Balls
• Charizard Mega Energy

Event Bonuses
The following event bonuses will be live during the duration of the event.
• Players will receive 3X Stardust when catching Pokemon.
• Lure Modules when activated during the event will be extended for three hours.
• Incense when activated during the event will be extended for three hours.
• Taking Snapshots during the event will reward the player with additional Charmander encounters.
Community Day Classic Special Research Story
For $1USD or the price in your local currency, players will be able to buy a ticket to participate in the Community Day Classic Special Research Story which features Charmander.
Timed Research
On Saturday, September 2, 2023, between 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Niantic will offer free Timed Research for the event.
Players will receive the following rewards for completing the research:
• Charizard Mega Energy
• XP
Pokestop Showcases
During Community Day Classic, there will be Pokestop Showcases that are themed around Charmander! Be sure to be on the lookout for them.
This Pokemon GO Community Day Classic allows players who may not yet have encountered a shiny Charmander, may not have enough for all evolutions, or who want more Charizard Mega Energy to have a chance at doing so! It’s time to get out there, walk some routes, and catch everyone’s favourite Kanto starter.
