Gears 5 Queen Reyna – Everything You Need to Know

The brand new title of Gears 5 will be bringing an exciting and emotional campaign for players to experience when its release time officially arrives. Kait Diaz will be at the center of the franchise’s newest story, as she fights to discover her family’s connection with the origins of the Locust and Swarm and to destroy these threats to humanity finally. One of the most important characters that rise from the Gears 5 story is Queen Reyna, as Kait’s mother Reyna is transformed into a dominant figure in a way that will pull on the heartstrings. Players will remember Reyna as Kait Diaz’s mother in the series’ fourth entry. Kait’s mother was ultimately captured by the Swarm in that title’s campaign and taken back to their lair. The Swarm had kidnapped her to become the Queen of the Swarm, as she was a living relative of the Locust Queen Myrrah. The relation of Reyna and Kait to Queen Myrrah is then revealed in Gears 5 to be that Reyna is the daughter of Myrrah and Kait is her granddaughter. 

Kait eventually finds her mother connected to the Swarm Hive and in the early stages of mutation and is asked by her mother to disconnect her even though it would cause her death. Diaz goes forward with severing her mother from the Swarm Hive and is thought to be dead in the franchise’s fourth entry. However, she is found not to be dead thanks to her already having been connected to the Swarm network. The Gears 5 campaign then sees Kait’s mother be awakened and undergo even more mutation after being sealed inside the heart of the Swarm Hive. After having her consciousness warped by Myrrah’s consciousness inside of the Swarm network, Kait’s mother becomes the Queen of the Swarm and the most terrifying foe our heroes have ever faced. 

I won’t dive into the rest of the story for Queen Reyna in Gears 5 so that you can experience the adrenaline-fueled ending yourselves. However, you now know that Queen Reyna is the biggest threat you will have to face off against in the Gears 5 campaign.
