Once you find the crashed plane, knowing what the black box looks like can help you quickly spot it before fellow Fortnite players spot you.

To help, we’ve put together a quick guide that goes over where you can find the black box of a crashed plane in Fortnite.

Fortnite | Where To Find The Plane’s Black Box

The first thing that you’ll need to know when looking for the black box of a crashed plane in Fortnite is where the crashed plane itself is.

In the map image above, we’ve circled where you can find the crashed plane in pink near a blue map marker and the arrow that indicates our location.

When approaching Coral Castle, you’ll want to land on the large strip of green land in the lower right corner of the Coral Castle area.

When you land in that area, you’ll see the crashed plane has been broken apart into different sections from the nose to the tail.

The black box is located on the ground to the left of the middle section of the plane near a large bush.

When you find the black box, you’ll need to interact with it as you would a Loot Chest in order to complete this Week 9 Challenge.

Simply finding and looking at the black box isn’t enough, you have to interact with it. After interacting with the black box, it’ll disappear, and you’ll see a notification pop up that you’ve completed the challenge and earned 20,000 XP for doing so.

With this Week 9 Challenge successfully crossed off your list, you’re free to move through the other Week 9 Challenges in Fortnite.
