With the end of Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2 just around the corner, Epic has released a set of mini challenges called Storm the Agency. One challenge in particular will require players to open faction chests at different spy base locations. In this guide, we will take you through all of the different spy bases and will show you where to search locked chests to quickly complete this challenge.
Where are the Spy Bases in Fortnite?
There are currently five different spy base locations on the new Fortnite map that players can visit to complete this challenge. As you’re probably aware, you’ll need to search locked faction chest at three different bases, so you’ll have to visit a couple different locations if you want the Steel Shadow Pickaxe reward.
In the table below, we’ve included the locations and coordinates of all five Fortnite Shadow Bases.
As you can see, the spy bases are kind of scattered all over the place on the map. If you want to try to complete this challenge in a single match, your best option is going to be to visit one of the helicopter locations and fly around to the different spy bases.
Further, to open up one of the locked faction chests, you’ll need to be disguised as a Henchmen. You can do this by visiting a phone booth at one of the bases. This will allow you to walk past the Henchmen unnoticed and get into any locked chest or door. Sometimes the booths can be a little hard to find, but since the spy bases are in a pretty condensed area, you should come across one pretty quickly.
However, if the above method sounds too bland and boring, you can also go into a spy base location with your guns blazing and take out all of the Henchmen. Once they’re all knocked, you can pick one of them up and carry them over to the locked chest. Simply follow the on screen prompt to scan the Henchmen at the chest and you’ll be given access to the contents inside.
Lastly, if you’re not familiar with the faction chests, these were added to Fortnite with the launch of Chapter 2: Season 2 and offer high-tier loot. They are different from the regular chest, in that they are long, flat, and locked by an ID scanner. They’re a bit harder to get into than a regular chest, but most of the time they’re worth the trouble. Typically you’ll find blue, purple, and sometimes gold weapons inside!
Once you’ve tracked down and unlocked three different faction chests at various spy base locations, you’ll be rewarded with the Shadow Steel Pickaxe and will be one step closer to completing all of the Storm the Agency challenges. Further, visiting the Spy Bases will also help you with other challenge sets like Skye’s Adventure.
