Epic Games recently released an update to Fortnite that introduced new challenges and map hazards into the game, including Gorgers.
If you’re aiming to complete Galactus Punchcard challenges, you’ll likely have to eliminate one of these pesky robots.
Wondering what a Gorger looks like, or what to expect when you try and destroy one? Here’s what you need to know!
Fortnite Season 4: How to Destroy a Gorger
A Gorger is a malicious, alien-looking robot (as seen in the image above) added to Fortnite Season 4 as part of a recent update. To complete Galactus Punchcard challenges, you’ll need to find and eliminate Gorgers.
As simple as that sounds, the “finding” part is much easier said than done. To find a Gorger, we recommend first locating a helicopter and using it to fly around the map.
Gorgers spawn at random locations, with these locations changing each and every match. During our time hunting for Gorgers, we noticed they tend to spawn within the first map circle.
If you fly around the confines of that area, you should (hopefully) be able to spot a Gorger. In the air, you may spot a red beam of light which signifies the presence of a Gorger.
If you’re flying low enough, you may spot a Gorger itself just floating around.
If you’re having a hard time finding one, keep an eye out for a cluster of other Fortnite players because wherever there’s a Gorger, there’s bound to be people working to take it down.
Look for a red beam of light from the air as this marks the location of a Gorger in Fortnite.
Destroying a Gorger is very, very difficult as they’re formidable foes that can withstand a lot of damage.
They can also deal out a fair amount of damage as they shoot red laser beams and have smaller robots flying around helping deal damage as well.
Building walls to hide behind while you reload is definitely recommended. Building walls can also help you avoid getting shot by enemy players.
With this in mind, be sure to not only stock up on weapons and supplies before fighting a Gorger, but building materials as well.
All of these tools will help you successfully destroy a Gorger in Fortnite. You can also pick up helper robots that you bring down and use them as a weapon against the Gorger.
Try and aim for the yellow eye at the center of the Gorger as this is its weak spot.
Once a Gorger has been destroyed, it’ll drop Epic and Legendary gear for you to scoop up and it’ll count towards your Galactus Punchcard progress.
