When Is the Fortnite Doomsday Event Taking Place?

Epic has announced that the Fortnite Doomsday event will be taking place on Saturday, June 6 at 2 PM ET. Further, Epic is calling the Doomsday event “The Device” but most players seem to be sticking with the slang term. Further, this event will be the end event for Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2.

If you’d like to attend, Epic suggests that players show up 30 minutes early and get into a match, as space is limited. Of course, you may still be able to get in if you show up late, but if you want to ensure yourself a spot, it’d be best to arrive at the suggested time so you can get a good seat for the show. Further, the event will likely be taking place at the Agency, so you’ll probably want to hang out in the area so you don’t miss anything.

What Is the Fortnite Doomsday Event?

The Fortnite Doomsday event is the live event that will serve as the “ending” for Chapter 2: Season 2. It’s hard to say exactly what will happen during the event, as Epic has gotten serious about keeping leakers silent with threats of lawsuits. However, we still have a general idea of what’s going to happen during the Doomsday, or The Device, event.

If you’ve been working on the Storm the Agency challenges, you may have noticed that there are some hatches that have appeared underwater in the lake around the Spy Base. It’s unclear what will happen exactly, but most believe that when the timer’s countdown reaches zero, it’ll trigger a Doomsday Device at the Agency and the hatches will open up and flood the map.

If this happens, it could lead to significant amounts of water filling the map as Fortnite Chapter 2: Chapter 3 launches and could open up opportunities for some new gameplay features. Further, throughout the season, the Shadow vs. Ghost theme has been prevalent, so it’s possible there could be some type of battle between the two groups. The truth is no one really knows what’s going to happen, so be sure to tune in on June 6!

In the meantime, you’ll want to go ahead and complete the rest of the challenges in Chapter 2: Season 2 as they will disappear when the season comes to a close. Below are some guides that should help you out.
