Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 | Mark an Alien Egg

The first question Fortnite players have is where to find an Alien Egg to mark. When you interact with the Legendary Quest in your list of Quests, you should see a marker pop up on the map at Holly Hatchery (formerly Holly Hedges).

There, you’ll find a number of low gravity areas and yes, Alien Eggs as well. In the map image above, we’ve circled the location you’ll want to visit after you drop out of the Battle Bus. Once you reach Holly Hedges, your next order of business is finding an Alien Egg.

You can find Alien Eggs on the ground and look small, round, and bright green. We found ours in the very center of Holly Hatchery. When you see an Alien Egg, don’t get too close or it’ll hatch before you get the chance to mark it.

Additionally, when an Alien Parasite hatches from an egg, you’ll want to be cautious as it could attach to your head. While having an Alien Parasite on your head will give you some nice movement improvements, like low gravity jumps, the price of this Alien Parasite hat is that it’ll cut your HP in half.

Note that you can get an Alien Parasite off your head by jumping in some water. When you do this, the Alien Parasite will float away and when it does, you can shoot it so it doesn’t return to cling to your character’s head again.

With that out of the way, you’ll obviously want to pick up a weapon before you start searching for Alien Eggs, however the reason for this isn’t just self-defense. When you hold a weapon, you can aim and point your weapon’s reticle at the Alien Egg.

Then, using the Ping button, you can “mark” the Alien Egg from afar. No need to get too close to where the Alien Egg could hatch. The button you press to “Ping” or mark the Alien Egg will vary depending on the platform you’re playing Fortnite on.

If you’re on PC like we are, you’ll want to press the middle mouse button. If you’re on console, you’ll want to press LB on Xbox, L1 on PlayStation, or L on Nintendo Switch. When done correctly, the Alien Egg will be marked and you should see a notification pop up that you’ve completed the Quest, earning yourself a cool 45,000 XP in the process.
