This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information

Continuing down the Legendary Quest line as part of the Week 5 Challenges in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7, you’ll eventually come across a task that asks you to deploy Alien Nanites. Given that Alien Nanites are new to the game, questions have arisen in regards to what Alien Nanites look like and how you deploy them.

To help, we’ve put together a little guide that’ll walk you through completing the “Deploy Alien Nanites” Quest in Fortnite.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 | Deploy Alien Nanites

The most common questions people have when it comes to the “Deploy Alien Nanites” Quest in Fortnite is what do Alien Nanites look like, and where can you find them. To start, Alien Nanites are a new Crafting Material of Common rarity that can be found throughout the Fortnite map.

You can use them to craft alien weapons, or deploy them to create a low gravity area. It doesn’t appear like they’re limited to specific locations. During our time with this Legendary Quest, we found all of our Alien Nanites on the ground as floor loot.

We found our first on the ground at Lazy Lake, and the second on our way through the mountains heading towards Weeping Woods. Corny Complex is another great spot to find Alien Nanites.

Additionally, our recommendation when it comes to finding Alien Nanites is to keep an eye out on the ground in order to spot them as floor loot. Speaking of which, you’ll obviously need to know what Alien Nanites look like in order to spot them.

In the image below, you’ll see exactly what Alien Nanites look like on the ground as floor loot.

Once added to your inventory, the next step is to “deploy” Alien Nanites. Doing this is relatively simple, with the Alien Nanites equipped aim (Right Click on PC) like you would a grenade and you should see the outline of a large box appear.

The box is the low gravity area that’ll be created once you deploy your Alien Nanites. With the Legendary Quest, you only have to do this once for it to be completed. However, while we were trying to complete the Quest, we deployed Alien Nanites twice and our Quest progress still did not update.

The Quest appears to be glitched, but we imagine this issue will be resolved in the very near future. Until then, if you’re having the same problem we are and your Quest isn’t being marked as complete, one potential workaround is to regularly check in with the game, find Alien Nanites, and deploy them.

You can also follow @FortniteStatus for updates.

When you’re able to get the Quest to be marked as complete, you’ll earn 30,000 XP for completing the “Deploy Alien Nanites” Quest. If you want to continue completing Legendary Quests in Fortnite, the next one will task you with dancing near Zyg and Choppy.
