One of the Quests available to players in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 is one that asks them to abduct an opponent using a flying saucer’s tractor beam. Instructions beyond this are kept a bit vague, which has resulted in questions like how exactly do you abduct an opponent while you’re in a flying saucer.
To help answer this question, and others, we’ve put together a guide for you showing you how to abduct an opponent with a saucer tractor beam in Fortnite!
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 | Abduct an Opponent with a Saucer Tractor Beam
The first step when it comes to abducting an opponent using a flying saucer’s tractor beam in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 is knowing where to find a flying saucer. In a previous guide, we outlined two great locations where you can pick yourself up a flying saucer.
In the map image above, we’ve marked both of these locations. Note the flying saucer under the bridge near Corny Complex is unguarded and unused and is the one we’d recommend going for first. If someone else has taken it, head over to the main red barn at Corny Complex.
Inside, you’ll find a flying saucer however there are a ton of IO Guards you’ll need to take out before you can safely enter the flying saucer. If you’re going for this one, make sure to stock up on supplies first. Once you’re inside a flying saucer, the next order of business is knowing how to use the tractor beam to abduct an opponent.
Finding an enemy player in the wild can sometimes be difficult, but fortunately there’s another way to complete this Quest and it involves abducting a different type of opponent… an IO Guard.
That’s right, if you abduct an IO Guard using your flying saucer’s tractor beam it counts as this is how we completed the Quest when we were doing it (see image below).
As for how to use the tractor beam, below we’ve listed the button you need to press (on each platform) while flying around in a saucer. You can also see the controls at the bottom right corner of your screen while you’re flying a saucer in Fortnite.

To abduct someone you need to press the correct button, then aim the beam of light over that person and keep it there to pick them up. If there are objects nearby be careful as the tractor beam can also pick up objects, including cars.
Speaking of which, if your opponent is driving around in a car and you abduct them while they’re still in the car, that should count towards your Quest progress as well. When you’ve successfully abducted an opponent the Quest will be marked as complete and as a reward, you’ll earn 30,000 XP in Fortnite.
