Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is one of the best releases of 2025 and another homerun for The Game Kitchen, who continue releasing gorgeous 2D action titles. You can enjoy this masterpiece on your regular widescreen display, but ultrawide users will have to deal with black bars at the sides.

The lack of support in Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound has already been addressed by the PC widescreen community, specifically from Rose, and here is how you can install their patch to add support to the game.

Fixing the Ninja Gaiden Ragebound Ultrawide Issues

The patch created by Rose essentially adds ultrawide support to Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound by removing the black bars from the presentation and expanding the viewable area.

Here is how you can install this mod:

  • Head over to the following GitHub link.
  • Download the patch file by clicking the Ninja.Gaiden.Ragebound.ultrawide.v0.1.zip under Assets.
  • Extract the zip file where Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is installed.
  • Launch Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound and wait for a few seconds till the patch is installed. This will only happen once.

That’s all you need to, and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound should work in the ultrawide resolution of your choice without any black bars on the sides.

Here is a screenshot from Rose, which showcases the mod in action during the prologue mission:

While the mod works for the most part, there are a few issues that you can run into when it comes to the presentation since the game wasn’t designed with ultrawide in mind. Here are the issues currently known by Rose:

  • Flickering vertical lines in some locations.
  • Camera position may not perfectly match the original, especially near the level edges.
  • Some backgrounds may not fill the screen. Report any that you come across and include the save files.

All credits go to Rose for creating and testing the patch at 2560×1080. You can learn about their work on their Patreon

If you want to remove the mod for any reason, and the known issues are getting in the way of your experience, then you can easily get rid of it by deleting the files that came with it.

Overall, I doubt that the developers will add ultrawide support to the game, because both Blasphemous titles also required patches from Rose to display properly at wider resolutions as well.
