Final Fantasy XVI is finally making its way to PC after its initial release on PS5 last year. The PC version was confirmed at an earlier date, but Square Enix has now dropped a brand new trailer showcasing the PC version in all its glory. A demo is now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, along with the system requirements for Final Fantasy XVI.
Final Fantasy XVI PC System Requirements
Minimum | Recommended | |
---|---|---|
Resolution | 720p | 1080p |
FPS Target | 30 FPS | 60 FPS |
OS | Windows® 10 / 11 64-bit | Windows® 10 / 11 64-bit |
CPU | AMD Ryzen™ 5 1600 / Intel® Core™ i5-8400 | AMD Ryzen™ 7 5700X / Intel® Core™ i7-10700 |
GPU | AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 / Intel® Arc™ A580 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1070 | AMD Radeon™ RX 6700 XT / NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2080 |
RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB |
Storage | 170 GB SSD | 170 GB SSD |
These are fairly beefy requirements, especially compared to the last few Final Fantasy releases on PC. If you’re looking to play at 1080p with a 60 FPS target, you’ll need something like an RTX 2080 paired with a Ryzen 5 5700X. We’re assuming this is without any upscaling technologies enabled, which thankfully the game is fully supporting based on the demo.
Apart from that, you need a whopping 170 GB of free space, and an SSD is recommended regardless of the settings you play at. Even if you’re settling for a 720p experience, an SSD is required.

The base edition is priced at $50, which is a fairly significant cut from its original price, and you can also purchase the complete edition for $70, which comes with all the DLC content and additional weapons and items, including the following:

- Away (1987)” Orchestrion Roll
- Torn from the Heavens” Orchestrion Roll
- Through the Maelstrom” Orchestrion Roll
Final Fantasy XVI is coming to PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 17, 2024.
