One of the best side quests in Final Fantasy 16 involves an eclectic engineer in Mid’s Dungeon. And of course, his demands are reasonable. He just wants the ashes of the Bomb King. Here’s how to find the Bomb King in Final Fantasy 16.
Final Fantasy 16: Bomb King Location and Hunt Guide (FFXVI)
Periodically, we’ll get a Notorious Mark that only appears as part of a side quest. And those side quests almost always offer something good at the end of them. In this case, we’ll need to find the Bomb King to complete the side quest Weird Science. And, fortunately, it’s not that hard to find.
Here’s how to find the Bomb King in Final Fantasy 16:
- Go to Eastern Sanbreque on the World Map.
- Select The Dragon’s Aery Obelisk.
- Travel to The Imperial Chase.
- Find the Bomb King in the Fallen ruin.
Access your world map and look to the far right. Eastern Sanbreque is the rightmost location on the main continent. From there, select Local Map and chose The Dragon’s Aery Obelisk. The Bomb King is located in the Imperial Chase.
If you don’t see The Imperial Chase on your map, it’s likely because you’ve cleared your map completely. Which is completely understandable, as it’s likely you’ve had no reason to go there. The Imperial Chase can be found by following the map’s edge south.

Eventually, you’ll find a trail that’s hidden by trees. Follow this trail until a new path splits off to the left. Take that left turn, and you’ll see the ruins of a Fallen airship. If you’ve reached an abandoned-looking house, you’ve gone too far.
The Bomb King is lurking in the ruins of the Fallen Airship, and you’ll get a cut scene the moment you approach its blackened core at the center.
