With a new FFXIV patch on the horizon, PvP enthusiasts might be worried that they won’t be able to get all rewards from the current Series in time. Will they have to start speedrunning PvP matches or can they take a small break?
When is the PvP Series 5 Ending in FFXIV?
The PvP Series 5 will last until the Dawntrail expansion’s official release date. Info is confirmed by the Series 5 official announcement note on The Lodestone, where said Series is stated to last until 7.0 arrives. While we have no official date for Dawntrail’s release just yet, it’s confirmed that it won’t be happening anytime sooner than June 2024.
All previous Series have followed the same pattern of lasting for an entire major update. So even when 6.55 arrives, you’ll still be able to make progress on the current Series.
You’ll have more than enough time to farm for those sweet rewards, which are unique to the Series Malmstones and cannot be obtained anywhere else, with the main final prize being the Fierce Tyrant’s Attire, obtained at Level 25. From 26 onward, you’ll only get Trophy Crystals as rewards no matter how much you play.
There are plenty of other interesting, unique rewards in the levels between such as exclusive Frame Kits, Minions, and Emotes. None of the rewards from the previous Series have been made available after they’re gone, so make sure you won’t miss those!
Following Patch 6.3, players get extra Series experience from the first Duty Roulette: Frontline they complete each day, making it easier to complete your Series all the way up to 25 by simply playing a single Frontline match every other day. This is the recommended way for farming if you’re not a PvP enthusiast, which is completely fine and understandable.
If you still want to speed up your farming, then Crystalline Conflict is still the most time-efficient method if you’re lucky to have fast queues. Otherwise, just take it slowly as Dawntrail will take a while to be here. We got plenty of new info on the next expansion, though, so it’s time to get hyped for it!
