Is FFXIV Cross Platform?

You can play with your PC or PS4 friends on FFXIV regardless of the platform. PC players can play with PS4 players and vice-versa as long as they are both on the same datacenter. This is something you decide when making a new character.

Each Data Center has a list of servers to choose from. The server is less important than the Data Center. As long as you and your friends are on the same Data Center, you’ll be able to team up and play through the content together.

FFXIV also has cross-progression, which will allow you to carry your character and items over to a different platform if you choose. The only caveat is that you will need to buy the expansions on the other platform separately.

If you’re looking to hop back into Final Fantasy 14, now is an excellent time because the latest expansion, Endwalker, launches this fall. Time to get all caught up before it releases, so you’re good to go when it comes out.

That’s everything you need to know about cross-platform play in FFXIV. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please ask us on the official Prima Games Twitter and Facebook pages.
