FFXIV Azeyma’s Earrings Experience Boost Explained

How to Get and Use Azeyma’s Earrings in FFXIV

The Azeyma’s Earrings are an exclusive reward for pre-ordering the Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail expansion, and can only be obtained by purchasing the expansion before it’s officially out on July 2, 2024. If you don’t get it by then, you won’t be able to get it again in the future. But don’t worry, as each expansion releases a new accessory with the same effects, so you can get the next one two years from now.

You can claim the Earrings through your in-game mail after redeeming your Dawntrail code and they can be used right away. If you haven’t received your code just yet, be patient as it could take a few hours for additional items to arrive.

The Azeyma’s Earrings increase the experience obtained from defeating monsters by 30%, stacking up with all of your other bonuses such as Armory, Food, Free Company buffs, and more. It can be equipped from Level 1 and it works up to 90. Its stats will also increase according to the job you’re currently equipped with, so it’ll always be a useful item. A Reaper would get extra Strength and Direct Hit, while an Astrologian gets Mind and Piety, for example.

While Dawntrail will increase the level cap to 100, it takes a long time to get to 90, so every small boost counts. The new jobs Pictomancer and Viper will also start at 80, so the Earrings are quite useful for those two. As it only applies to defeated monsters, several leveling methods won’t be affected by the earrings.

You get increased experience from:

  • Defeating bosses in Dungeons and different instances;
  • Defeating monsters in the overworld;
  • Defeating monsters during FATES.

You won’t get extra experience from the following activities:

  • Completing FATES;
  • Quests;
  • Duty Roulette bonus experience;
  • PvP duties;
  • Deep Dungeon content (Palace of the Dead, Heaven-on-High, Eureka Orthos).

Even though some of the most used methods for leveling won’t take such a huge advantage of the earrings, you should always use them when leveling regardless of what you’re doing as their stats are always useful. You might forget to re-equipping them when entering a dungeon too, so it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Needless to say, the Azeyma’s Earrings won’t affect Disciple of Land/Hand classes as these cannot enter combat to make use of its bonuses. Fortunately, these will always have various alternative methods for leveling such as Custom Deliveries and Levequests.

All in all, the Azeyma’s Earrings are one of the best items for leveling as dungeons are always reliable for leveling up quickly. You can always go with FATE leveling while waiting on Queues, as this is almost just as reliable if you can clear them quickly.
