How To Farm Feathers in Dying Light The Beast

Infinite arrows!

Crafting different types of ammunition and weapons is a core part of the Dying Light experience, and that’s no different in Dying Light: The Beast. If you like ranged weapons, especially bows, you’ll need plenty of feathers.

Unlike other common materials, such as scraps, feathers are harder to find. Fortunately, I’ve discovered an early farming method that lets you stock up on them as much as you want at a fairly low cost. Here’s how to farm feathers early in Dying Light: The Beast.

Farm Feathers in Dying Light The Beast

After completing the main mission “Life After Life”, you’ll unlock the first trader in the Town Hall safehouse, named Doug.

Doug sells a mix of weapons, healing items, and crafting materials, and he’ll also buy your valuables. Most importantly, he regularly carries a small stock of feathers, which you can farm by forcing his shop to refresh in under a minute instead of waiting for it to do so naturally.

Step 1 – Buy Doug’s Feathers

  • Head to Doug and purchase all the feathers he has in stock. He usually carries anywhere between 2 and 6 feathers.

Step 2 – Run to the Old Town Gate

  • Exit the safehouse through the main entrance and make your way toward the Old Town Gate. Here is the fastest path from Doug to the entrance:

Step 3: Descend the Stairs

Keep going and descend the first set of stairs.

Step 4 – Return to the Safehouse

Now, run straight back to Doug in the Town Hall safehouse. His stock will have refreshed, letting you buy more feathers immediately. Each set of Feathers costs 12 money (Old World Money) at Doug, which is fairly cheap.

I tested this several times and found that going all the way to the stairs is required for the refresh to trigger. Just running a short loop inside the safehouse won’t work. The entire run takes about 35 – 40 seconds, and you can keep repeating it until you run out of money.

Doug also sells the following materials, so you can technically farm everything mentioned below using the same process:

Where To Find Feathers Naturally in Dying Light The Beast

Compared to most resources, feathers are pretty rare in Dying Light: The Beast, and you will occasionally find them after searching enemies or stashes. In most cases, feathers are usually found at fashion stores, higher spots around the map, and safe area cabins in the greener spots of the map.

Honestly, finding them on your own can be pretty daunting, especially with how random their spawn spots are, which is why it’s usually less taxing to just get them from different traders.

What Can You Craft with Feathers

Feathers are primarily used to craft bows and arrows. Using ranged weapons can be pretty useful in Dying Light: The Beast, and if you’re someone who likes the accuracy and stealthiness of a bow, you’ll need plenty of arrows in your inventory to craft all sorts of different arrows.

Even though feathers are hard to come by in Dying Light: The Beast, they are essential for crafting weapons with range. This is why farming them makes the acquisition of these weapons and their respective ammo types much easier.
