Eyes On The Moon Destiny 2 Guide: Unlocking the Vex Offensive

If you’re wanting to Unlock the Vex Offensive, then you’re going to have to finish the Eyes On The Moon quest as one of the pre-requisites. There’s a couple of things that you’ll have to do as part of this initiative, so follow along with our helpful list of the steps to get cracking.

You’ll have to first pick up the Vex Invasion quest from Ikora Rey. This will require you to participate in a public event that involves taking out, predictably, a whole lot of Vex. This public event doesn’t come around constantly, so you’re probably going to have to do some waiting around while you’re on the moon.

You can experience the public event for the Vex Invasion at one of the following locations:

  • Archer’s Line
  • The Hellmouth
  • Anchor of Light

At either of these locations, if you stick around long enough, you’re going to eventually notice that a portal will appear with a whole ton of Vex just pouring out of it. You’ll also note that these Vex are accompanied by a Gate Lord boss. Killing these Gate Lords will ensure that Vex gates continue to spawn. Once you’ve managed to get through three of these gates, you’ll find a chest and you’ll also be able to loot a whole bunch of materials. There isn’t any actual rhyme or reason to these spawning, so our recommendation would be to coast around each of the three areas until you notice the portals. Once you’ve taken out three Gate Lords, you’ll find that your Vex Invasion progress will have advanced to completion and you’ll be able to turn the quest in to Eris Morn to get to the next step of unlocking the Vex Offensive.

If you want a little more information about the Offensive itself and what you can actually do with your friends in this new game mode, you can check out our guide which describes it and also what the other steps are to unlock it.
