Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind – How to Play Battlegrounds

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind doesn’t just allow players to return to the world of Vvardenfell, it also introduces several new features to the game. One of these features is a new type of multiplayer matchup called Battlegrounds. In this article we’ll teach you everything we know about Battlegrounds in Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, including how to get started, and how to play it.

How to Get Started in Battlegrounds

Getting started in Battlegrounds is pretty simply. First, open up the Activity Finding and navigate to the Battlegrounds tab. Here you’ll see various Battlegrounds playlists currently available. Choose one that you would like to play on, and then select it. After the playlist reaches enough players, you’ll be notified, and the Battleground will begin.

How Battlegrounds Work

Battlegrounds are quick fifteen minute games of Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Domination. In these modes, three teams of four players face off at one of three main battle areas including Ald Carac, Foyada Quarry, and Ularra. Currently there are two level ranges that players can choose from: 10-49 and 10-50. Characters are battle-leveled the same way that they were in Cyrodiil activities.

How to Play Battlegrounds

Once you’ve spawned into a Battleground, it’s time to get started and claim victory for your team. As we mentioned above, there are three teams of four. The teams are the Fire Drakes, Pit Daemons, or Storm Lords. It doesn’t matter which Alliance you support, as there are no Alliance ties in Battlegrounds.

Basically, from there you must work according to the game type that you’re playing. If you’re playing Team Deathmatch (TDM) then stick with your team and take out other players. If you’re doing Capture The Flag, join up with other teammates and try to steal the enemy’s flag, just don’t leave your flag exposed for too long, or the enemies might grab it.

Lastly, if you’re playing Domination, choose two control points and then have your team focus on them, and keep enemies off of them. The first team to reach 500 points will win, or the team that’s in the lead after 15 minutes of in-game time.

The basic three roles of the MMO are still applicable in Battlegrounds, so be sure to work according to the role that your character fits, I.E. Tank, Healer, DPS (damage per second). Playing to your specific role is extremely important in Battlegrounds, so make sure you’re doing your best to help your team out.
